Abstractions

Summary

Abstraction. What , where, why, when, how, who?

This class on the What, Why and How of abstract art will open up your painting and deepen your understanding of art. There are many ways that artists develop painting, going back millennia and in diverse cultures.

Participants can work in any media such as oils, acrylics, gouache, inks, and collage. We’ll go over these possibilities. This will be fun and personally engaging. Your skills in seeing and feeling and in painting will improve. It will help you see and think in terms of the painting’s structure and dynamics, and perhaps its meaning.

Cost

$300 (members) or $355 (non-members) tuition for all 7 classes, to be paid through the Oregon Society of Artists (OSA).

Location

Classes will be held at the Oregon Society of Artists (OSA).
